Don't be a franchise slave in 2019



Franchise is dead or let's say not necessary in 2019 if you are an entrepreneur, because you will work tripple to be successful, for the franchise owner, for the tax office and after that for yourself.
Maybe it was an option during the 50ties, 60ties and 70ties, maybe 80ties also, where the economy was booming and it was not easy as a small entrepreneur to get national or global attraction, but in times of internet, social media and easy global entrepreneurship it's not contemporary anymore.
So why paying an annual membership fee of 2 k or 20 k $ for something that is less worth, then what you get from it?
Why paying an additional setup fee of 10 or 20 k $ at the beginning just to be a member of something, that lives from your personality and pro-activity as an entrepreneur?
Why paying a percentage from your annual turnover after you worked successful on projects, that where filled by your work experience?
Here are some price examples from our headhunting industry and old-school networks that still exist around the globe, making you believe with a fancy website, that they are the future of work, but with a business model from the 80ties behind it.
I am not talking about McDonalds / Burger King or Subway franchise, which could make sense to start a career there if you are a Burger or Sandwich addict. ;-)
At these networks you pay for something, that is less worth or just priceless:
  • getting a new website by yourself, 150 $ - 500 $ per year
  • getting an CRM and ATS > 100 € per month
  • getting new friends with entrepreneurial spirit - priceless
  • having pro-active partners - priceless
  • getting cross-border business - yes, we share the fee like partners
  • trust among partners - priceless
  • quality of work in projects - priceless
  • experience - priceless
The list could be longer, I know, but I think you understood, what I mean. There is a lot you get from a network of friends, who work and think like entrepreneurs, but there is no need for high membership fees and setup fees to work together as pro-active partners. Paying for that, will not solve the priceless problems ;-), because it's the same like in politics or the EU parliament, you need friends, trust and pro-activity to move something, and experience to deliver excellent quality.
